Who We Are


Co-Founder and Creative Director

Jason is a Connecticut-based playwright and theater professional specializing in project management, content creation, and theatrical licensing. Jason formerly held multiple positions, including Publications and Acquisitions Director, at Playscripts, Inc. for nearly a decade before co-founding Stage Partners. His own plays have been developed with Veterans Repertory Theater, The Tank, Soho Rep, HERE Arts Center, Irondale Ensemble, 3LD, and Classic Stage Company. Five of his short plays were selected by the Actors Theatre of Louisville as Heideman Award finalists. Over thirty of his plays for young actors are published and have been performed over 3,000 times in all 50 states and in over 25 countries, including a Norwegian and Bengali translation. When he's not writing, he proudly serves as a logistics officer with the New York Army National Guard. He's also equally proud to serve as the silly father of two young daughters.

Morgan is a New York City based playwright, director, producer and theater professional specializing in licensing and the creation and representation of adaptations for the stage. Formerly the Literary Manager at Playscripts, Inc., Morgan has also held multiple staff positions at Young Jean Lee’s Theater Company, The Cape Cod Theatre Project, Lark Play Development Center, and she helms her own theater company, Morgan Gould & Friends. She’s done residencies and directed work at theaters including Ensemble Studio Theatre, New Georges, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Ars Nova, HERE Arts Center and Playwrights Horizons. She holds a B.A. in Directing from Fordham University and an M.F.A. in Playwriting from CUNY Brooklyn. She has directed works at theaters throughout New York City, and her own plays for schools have been performed across the nation.

Director of Education and Engagement

Maria is an actor, teaching artist, and playwright. Now a resident of Connecticut, she was a NYC Public School teaching artist since 2005. She has worked with the Theatre Development Fund, LeAP! Onstage, Periwinkle Theater for Youth, and a Shakespeare and Playwriting teaching artist with Theatre For A New Audience. Maria has worked with 2nd grade through 12th grade, though, she has a special place in her heart for 6th-8th graders. Her students have performed and adapted the work of Shakespeare, written their own plays, devised ensemble performance pieces, sang and danced in musical productions, and performed their peers work on a Broadway stage. Growing up in New York, Maria attended LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts for Drama, and recently adjudicated the auditions for incoming students. Maria has performed with/at NYTW, EST, CSC, Woodshed Collective, SoHo Rep, HERE Arts Center, undergroundzerofestival, The Kirk @Theater Row, Fordham Alumni Company, 78th Street Theater Lab, aMios, BAX, and Shakespeare in the Park-ing Lot. Her published plays include To Date or Not to Date (Playscripts), #VIRAL, #Censored, and Two of the Fairest Stars (Stage Partners).

Director of Artistic Development

Kathryn is a writer and theatre professional with experience in literary management, publications, and development of new work. In her previous position as the Sr. Manager of Play Publications at Playscripts, Kathryn oversaw the publication of over 120 plays and curated two anthologies of connected short plays. Kathryn's published plays have received over 300 productions, and include Careless People: A Great Gatsby, Double Double, Unbreakable Timmy Cratchit, Do You Read Me?, Weekend Warriors, and Badger Poison. Her articles and essays have appeared in publications such as The Toast, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, The Atlantic, and The Nation. BA Drew University. Member of Athena Writes (2018) and Project Y Theater Writer's Group (2018-2019). She lives in Brooklyn with a lot of original cast albums.

Managing Director

Brendan is a Brooklyn-based playwright and publishing executive. Prior to Stage Partners, he was a VP at Playscripts/Broadway Licensing, where he was the longest-serving employee in the company's history. During his tenure, he ran everything from customer service and licensing, to operations, royalty administration, marketing, literary acquisitions, and publications. Brendan is excited to be working for an independent publisher that treats both playwrights and customers as partners.
