K. Alexa Mavromatis

K. Alexa Mavromatis’ short plays and one-acts—including The Stakeout (an earlier version of which was a finalist for Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Heideman Award) and True Blue (finalist for the Arts & Letters Prize for Drama)—have been produced throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her work has been published in anthologies, textbooks, and acting editions by Bedford/St. Martin’s, Smith and Kraus, and Original Works Publishing. Alexa’s full-length plays include The Back Room (third place recipient of the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award), Gravity, and Pirate Radio. She has held a playwriting fellowship at New Repertory Theatre, and is a member of New Perspectives Theatre Company’s 2020 Short Play Lab. Alexa has taught playwriting to high school students at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Concord Academy, and through the Massachusetts Young Playwrights’ Project. She earned her MFA in Playwriting at Boston University.
